The Gardner Group Story

Back in 1978, my dad, Richard Gardner had recently left his position as VP of loss control for a Northeast based regional insurance carrier. He was on the search for something different and it was going to involve the whole family.

In 1979, we purchased a campground in Upstate NY. it did not take long to figure out we needed additional revenue to live on.   Gardner Group was soon begun in the garage of our campground house.

Fast forward to my Dad’s retirement in 1994 and I took over the loss control operations.

I remember the first computer I bought in 1997 just to build inspection forms with Microsoft Word.  This would be the first of many innovations to our inspection process.  

Our evolution led to starting ViewSpection in 2013 to provide expanded digital options across the underwriting life cycle.

Since then we have been iterating and evolving the intersection of field and self service inspections and the many possible ways to deliver digital first inspections.
